We Did It!
On May 1st, 2017, Grub’s Boots supported Meirion Owen, a well-respected sheepdog handler, judge and event organiser in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for ‘The Most People Throwing Wellington Boots Simultaneously’.
After long deliberation and final checks with marshals, the record was broken and a new world record was made.
This fantastic achievement was made at the RWAS May Day Fair at Llanarthne Hall & Playing Fields, near Carmarthen.
The original record stood at 431, but the people of South Wales who participated in the attempt smashed this and it now stands at a whopping 636.
Said Meirion: “I was ecstatic when I received the news we had broken the Guinness World Record. What an achievement! It was an enjoyable day and I want to thank everybody who came to the fair and participated in the attempt. This record would not have been achieved if we hadn’t had all that support.
Continued Meirion: “Also a big thanks to Grub’s for their generous donation of 250 pairs of Grub’s boots, otherwise it would have been quite difficult to get hold of enough wellingtons for the day.”
