Choosing your horse’s forage for the winter can be a difficult decision, so why not opt for Timothy HorseHage?
Here are our reasons why this is a great option for most horses and ponies:
Timothy HorseHage is a semi-wilted, bagged forage made from specifically-grown timothy grass which is very similar to the famous Kentucky bluegrass of America. This grass is higher in fibre and lower in protein than many other grasses and it has a completely different ‘nose’ to ryegrass which makes it highly palatable.
Timothy Horsehage has BETA NOPS certification and is consistent and reliable and contains just grass alone. It is dust-free and comes with a 100% quality guarantee. It contains no chemical additives, mould inhibitors, flavourings, molasses or inoculants, and due to the unique fermentation process, has a sugar level that is considerably lower than a typical hay sample.
It is packed into small bales which are easy to handle, and are highly compressed to reduce the product to half its original size. HorseHage is great for travelling and splits very easily into wedges for netting up.
Timothy HorseHage is suitable for:
- Leisure horses and ponies
- Veterans
- Horses and ponies that are resting convalescing or laminitic
- Fussy feeders
- Adding variety to the diets of those equines that already enjoy the other types of HorseHage
Said Simon Woods, BVSc MRCVS , of Fyrnwy Equine Clinic: “As an equine vet, I often recommend High Fibre or Timothy HorseHage to my clients and we feed it to all the in-patients at my equine veterinary clinic. We find it to be a universal forage that is suitable for all types of ponies and horses. The High Fibre and Timothy varieties are high in fibre, whilst low in protein and energy and so are suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis or those that are going through a period of convalescence.”
“Modern forage can vary tremendously in terms of quality and composition. Some batches of hay can contain large amounts of energy and sugars, far more than some haylage. With High Fibre and Timothy HorseHage, the quality of forage is always reliable and is high in fibre and low in energy, making it consistently suitable and safe for laminitis-prone horses and ponies.”
And finally, one more great reason – we have an Autumn/Winter Promotion giving £1 off Timothy HorseHage! (Offer runs in participating stockists until 31/12/15 or while stocks last).
