Yaris, home of Yaris Equestrian and Yaris Racing has moved its manufacturing facility from its original, rural base to brand new premises at the heart of Kendal, Cumbria.

Having started the business at Hill Farm Stud, 12 miles outside of Kendal, Yaris Commercial Manager, James Todhunter felt the time was right to move to a more suitable premises in a central location.

With a healthy growth of the business, which sees Yaris supply custom-made horseware and stable apparel to riders and trainers worldwide, Yaris needed to attract a larger, skilled workforce which was proving difficult in their old rural location and the new premises could also be tailored to suit the needs of the business.

Said James: “We needed to recruit to support the growth of the business and the move has enabled us to do this, also, logistically we are now far more accessible for deliveries and despatching goods.

“The new premises mean our manufacturing operation is far more efficient as orders flow along production through cutting, embroidery, machining and despatch all in one line. All this combined will allow Yaris to increase capacity significantly and sets us well for the future.”

The move also coincides with the completion of the Brexit deal which Yaris hope will be to their advantage as a manufacturer of British made products.

“The double-whammy of COVID and Brexit is causing shortages, delays and additional costs, all of which are giving huge problems for consumers and retailers in the UK. Buying products which are made in Britain will therefore become more attractive from an economic and availability perspective,” added James.

Yaris hope that consumers will once again prefer to buy British making the future bright for UK manufacturing.
